Rectilinear formations are found scattered on the surface of Mars. The most famous is the "Inka City" formation first imaged by Mariner 9.

Below is a recent MOC image of Inka City from orbit. At the right is a portion of one of dozens of close images of the enigmatic formation.

Note the abundance of black spots in the close in image. Later in the spring as more and more of the surface is defrosted, the entire formation will become very dark.
