NEW! NEW! NEW! The Original FACE ON MARS ! WELCOME TO MARS4ALL A site dedicated to the little known discoveries already made and the discoveries yet to come from the [formerly] Red Planet... These full globe images of Mars were captured by the Hubble Space telescope at Mars opposition in 1997. The color is definitely too red. The planet has a generally mottled ruddy tan appearance to the eye. But at the time these images were made, it was customary to process all Mars images as red as possible. The current fashion is to claim Mars is more a "butterscotch" color... see the image at the bottom of the page (a re-processed Viking era mosaic) for an example. |
